Bug on Jug

Here is the next phonics set. We will send home the packet today.

The new sounds are: /b/, /d/, /g/, /h/, /i/, /j/, /r/, and /u/

The spelling words are: rat, rig, bug, big, jig, dug, rug, bag, dig, hug.

In order of the following pictures, the words are: bad, bag, big, bug, cab, cub, cup, dig, hug, jig, jug, mad, rat, rig, rug.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no picture for ‘dug’ but it is still a spelling word – don’t forget to practice spelling this word as well.

Practice reading the following sentences. Try writing them out without the pictures once your child can read them easily:

Use the following worksheets to practice hearing each sound in each word. Use them throughout the quarter. Start with the first sound missing, then middle sound, end sound, mixed sounds, and finally no sound cues.
